Addo Elephant Park
|
|
The Addo Elephant Park, was founded in 1931 to protect and conserve the last few remaining elephants. The Park has grown in leaps and bounds and now covers 164 000 hectares; stretching from Bird Island in the Indian Ocean to the mountains of the Zuurberg. The park is home to numerous species and is famous for its more than 450 elephants. Addo is one of the few parks in the world to include the Lion and the Great White Shark on its list of carnivores. Abo Shamani Wildlife Ranch offers its guests the opportunity to spend a day in this wildlife sanctuary with an experienced guide which will ensure that not even the tiny Dung Beetle is over-looked.
