The Ranch

Abo Shamani Wildlife Ranch is a privately owned, exclusive wildlife breeding facility situated in the malaria free Eastern Cape area of South Africa. The Ranch forms part of the Greater Kariega Conservancy and the planned Bushman's River Reserve Reclamation Project which will extend from the tropical Sunshine Coast, in land, to the rugged Frontier Country.

The Ranch is situated in the heart of Settler country and is ideal as a base for exploring the entire area which lies just north of the world-famous Garden Route. Just minutes away from the Ranch are stretches of pristine beaches at Kenton on Sea, flanked by the largest coastal Dune fields in the Southern hemisphere which roll down to the majestic Indian Ocean. Moving in the opposite direction, the scenery changes and the echoes of ancient battles ring through the mountains.

The work at the Ranch centers around the conservation and preservation of the environment and restoring the Bushman's river valley to its previous indigenous state. The Ranch incorporates four different biomes and this diversity allows a wide range of indigenous plant and animal species to thrive.
